Refuting the False Yamani Doctrine

This Website aims to critically Examine and Expose the false Claims of the Yamani movement using Qur’anic Evidence and Authentic Twelver Shīʿī sources.

Refutation of “The Yamani / Mahdi Parallel to Jesus” Narrative

Below is a Shia Ithnā ‘Asharī (Twelver) refutation of the claims of Aba Al Sadeq Al-Yamani, using Qur’an, authentic Shia hadith, and classical theology.

Each major claim is addressed one by one

1. Claim: The 12 Imams are “disciples” of Prophet Muhammad like the apostles of Jesus

Refutation

In Shia Islam, the Imams are not disciples, nor are they “messengers from Muhammad.”
They are divinely appointed successors (A’immah), not apostles or emissaries.

Qur’anic Principle

“Your only guardian is Allah, His Messenger, and the believers…”
(Qur’an 5:55)

The Imams are Awliyā’ (divine authorities), not “disciples.”

Hadith (Ghadir)

“Whoever I am the master of, Ali is his master.”
(Sahih Shia & Sunni sources)

This establishes succession, not discipleship.

Shia Creed

Imams are:

  • Divinely appointed

  • Infallible

  • Hujjah (Proof of Allah)

  • Not missionaries of Muhammad

The “apostle” model is Christian theology, not Shia Islam.

2. Claim: Imams are “messengers from Muhammad”

Qur’anic Refutation

“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.”
(Qur’an 33:40)

There is no messenger after him—not even “from him.”

Shia Doctrine

Imams:

  • Do not receive revelation (wahy)

  • Do not bring new law

  • Are guardians of the Sharia

Calling them “messengers” is bid‘ah (innovation).

3. Claim: Prophet Muhammad and Jesus “united with God”

This is Christian theology, not Islam.

Qur’an Rejects Divine Union

“There is nothing like Him.”
(Qur’an 42:11)

“Say: He is Allah, One.”
(Qur’an 112:1)

No human “unites” with Allah.

Imams Explicitly Rejected This

Imam Ali (ع):

“Two groups are destroyed concerning me: the exaggerator and the hater.”
(Nahj al-Balagha)

Anyone who says the Imams “became godlike” is a ghālī (extremist).

4. Claim: Imams became “gods of the universe”

This is shirk.

Qur’an

“Judgment belongs only to Allah.”
(Qur’an 12:40)

Only Allah manages the universe.

Imams are servants, not divine agents of creation.

5. Claim: The 12th Imam lives in God’s presence like Jesus

Shia Belief About Occultation

Imam Mahdi (عج) is:

  • Alive on Earth

  • Hidden among people

  • Not in heaven

  • Not in divine realm

Imam al-Sadiq (ع):

“He walks in their markets and treads on their carpets, yet they do not recognize him.”
(Bihār al-Anwār)

He is not in a heavenly dimension.

6. Claim: The 12th Imam shapeshifts

There is no authentic Shia narration supporting this.

This idea comes from:

  • Gnostic beliefs

  • Christian mysticism

  • Modern cult theology

Imams may appear unrecognized, but they do not change form.

7. Claim: Jesus had godlike powers after resurrection

Islam rejects resurrection theology.

Qur’an on Jesus

“They did not kill him nor crucify him.”
(Qur’an 4:157)

Jesus was raised, not resurrected.

He remains a servant of Allah.

8. Claim: Prophet Muhammad received divine authority to legislate freely

False.

Qur’an

“He does not speak from desire.”
(Qur’an 53:3)

The Prophet only conveys revelation.

He does not invent religion.

9. Claim: Prophet Muhammad appears to Imams after death

Shia theology rejects post-death interactions like this.

Qur’an

“You will die, and they will die.”
(Qur’an 39:30)

The dead do not return to guide the living.

10. Claim: The 12 “Mahdis” after the Imams

There is no authentic Shia hadith about 12 Mahdis after Imam Mahdi.

All major Maraji‘ reject this doctrine:

  • Sayyid Sistani

  • Shaykh Mufid

  • Allamah Majlisi

  • Shaykh Tusi

This concept originates from Yamani / Ahmed al-Hasan ideology, not Twelver Shi‘ism.

11. Claim: Dreams can establish divine leadership

Shia Usul Principle

Dreams are not hujjah (proof).

Imam al-Sadiq (ع):

“Religion is not taken from dreams.”
(Usul al-Kafi)

Only:

  • Qur’an

  • Authentic hadith

  • Scholarly consensus

establish religious authority.

12. Claim: Ahmed al-Hasan was chosen through a dream

This contradicts:

  • Qur’an

  • Hadith

  • Shia methodology

  • Scholarly consensus

Abraham’s dream was revelation, not a personal vision.

No one after the Prophet receives revelation.

Final Verdict (Shia Ithna Ashari Position)

Aba Al-Sadiq :

❌ Mixes Christian theology with Islam
❌ Promotes divinization of humans
❌ Introduces false messengers
❌ Rejects scholarly authority
❌ Uses dreams as proof
❌ Creates a new “apostle” system
❌ Distorts Imam Mahdi’s occultation

All of these are deviations from Twelver Shi‘ism.

Qur’anic Warning

“If you obey him, you will be guided.”
(Qur’an 24:54)

Guidance is in:

  • Qur’an

  • Ahlulbayt

  • Authentic scholarship

Not in modern claimants or mystical theories.
